I am currently sitting in the library on Vogelweh next to a bunch of high schoolers who are doing school work and myspacing. I have no internet or phone at my house and I don't know how long it will be until I get it, so until then, next to the high schoolers I will remain. I got very excited when I was moving in yesterday because a guy from the internet-phone company came out and talked to me in his broken English and my not-so-stellar pantomime about my options. Ultimately, I'm wired, but not quite. Something has to be installed before I can get it. So, my landlord has to do something that I don't know what is or I'd do it myself. But, I did finally meet my landlord this morning. He's extremely extremely nice. I'm very lucky.
I went to the animal shelter to see about adoption today. The vet tech told me that they won't be getting any more animals in until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. There was one cat available, but he's very skittish and doesn't like other people... probably not my match. I'll keep checking. I need to move in a little more anyway. I have stuff strewn everywhere and no where to put it!
Yesterday, I got a call from Emily saying "So, I thought you should know that there was a mandatory urinalysis this morning. You were supposed to be at LRMC in duty uniform NLT 0800." (it's now 1045 and I'm sitting at home waiting for the guy to come do my washer and dryer hook-up). Great... I call Julie... no one has contacted her but me! So both of us get our uniforms on and trodd over to LRMC drinking massive amounts of liquids as we go. We get to the company and the Sergeant in the orderly room looks at us and asks us what kind of trouble we're in now (we've been to the company a lot by ourselves). Well, we weren't in any trouble at all but our names were on the list as failures to show. It was our head nurses who were the trouble makers by failing to follow up with us to ensure we knew where we were expected to be, as we don't even work in the hosptials until February. Thank you, Emily! Life saver. Guys have it easy. It's a lot harder for girls to pee into a cup with someone watching their every move. In the end, mission accomplished.
Well, I'm running out of time. I have a 45 minute limit and a lot left to do today!
